THANKS To Darwin & Humpty Doo Golf club
FOR A GREAT SENIOR LADIES GOlF DAY!

The Senior Ladies
headed off on an adventure to Gardens Park Golf Links on Tuesday, and what a great time was had by all!  Two ladies in particular even had a little swim!!  Okay, it was hot, but that was a bit extreme!

Gardens Park were very welcoming and the course looked great providing a challenge for first time users.  The Darwin ladies mixed it up with the Gardens Park ladies and we all set off to try something different.  Many trees and drains later our 9 hole Stableford concluded with some amazing scores, some lost balls, some wet bums, and an amazing lunch.

Val Moon was the A Grade winner with a massive 28 points, with about four birdies and an eagle.  She was followed by Lyn Heap on 23 pts on a count back from Keryn Reynolds.

Helen Smith won the B Grade with 25pts, Susie Reaburn rode in second with 24 pts and Pam Nunn 23 pts.  Some of these scores even includes wipes!  Nearest the pins were won on the 1st Hole by Helen Smith and the 9th Hole by Glenda Sharp; and a ball went to Val Moon for her eagle on the 6th.

The Committee spent hours over cupcakes discussing the possibility of awarding additions to the birdie tree.  However due to the high number of birdies during the round - totalling well over 10, it was decided we needed an aviary to store them all, so the birdie tree will remain, as intended, just for DGC events.

Players were treated to an amazing lunch sponsored by the NTSWGA and prepared by Chris Tilley and her daughter on behalf of Gardens Park.  The sandwiches and cupcakes on offer were delicious, generous, and devoured with great joy.  Many thanks go to Roger Dee, Chris and Nathan Campfield for enabling our outing to Gardens to be such a success and a guaranteed return next year.

We thank our lady members that supported the golf day.
